In June 2013 I embarked on a challenge on many cyclists’ bucket list, the famous Pyrenees RAID. The concept, 100hrs to get from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, climbing all the famous Pyrenean cols that the Tour de France has climbed over the years. This was a week to be remembered; 800+ kms, 11,000+ mtrs climbing, 16 inches of rain, 46 croissants and pastries, 7 pizzas, 50 + beers and 10+ bottles of rose. We started at the Atlantic town of Hendaye on the Monday, and 100 hours later we rode into a little town on the Mediterranean France/Spain border called Cebere. It was an awesome adventure, some seriously hard cycling but a lot of laughs and good times with many new friends.
