Miami Beach Giant Tarpon
On my fishing bucket list was the Giant Tarpon, a hard pulling and spectacular leaping sportfish that grow beyond 200lbs. I was in Miami for a work retreat and had a spare morning the day after the Superbowl (with the Eagles winning spectacularly). I had lined up Captain Carl to take my mate Craig Martin and myself out and within 40 mins we were onto a big school of Tarpon just a few hundred yards off Miami Beach. We caught a few mid-sized fish then a monster was hooked and the fun began. 30 mins later we had a 120lb Giant Tarpon beside the skiff. Tick!
