Live Baiting Weekend – Nerang River Canals

Hawko and I launched the Belafonte from his back yard where he conveniently has a nice little boat ramp. We only went a few hundred feet before we found an enormous amount of baitfish under the Markeri St bridge in Mermaid Waters. After quickly catching our live bait of Herring, it was only within half an hour we had both scored personal bests. Hawko boated a 70cm+ Flathead on a soft plastic and I landed and monster Bream well over a kilo.
