Whiting on Poppers?

After reading various articles about catching whiting on poppers I thought I’d give it a go on the upper sand banks of Noosa River and Weyba Creek. The result was 5 small whiting over two sessions, and many other larger fish and serious flathead attacking the but not connecting. I was astounded to see these small fish attacking surface poppers half their size. This is a fun form of fishing on light gear.
